Wipro appoints Harish Dwarkanhalli as President to lead the cloud enterprise business. Previously, Dwarkanhalli was working with Cognizant where he led the Salesforce business, handling a team of nearly 14,000 employees.
Wipro Promotes CFO, BPS Head to President
Wipro makes several promotions at the senior level. CFO Jatin Dalal and business process services (BPS) Head Nagendra Bandaru are promoted as Presidents. The company also promoted six Vice Presidents to the level of Senior Vice Presidents.

Accenture Reports Strong First Quarter Fiscal 2020 Results
Accenture reports revenue of $11.4 billion, a growth of 7% YoY for the quarter ended November 30, 2019. Health and Public Service accounts for $1.97 billion with a growth of 12% YoY.
Accenture acquires Clarity Insights, a U.S.-based data consultancy that provides AI and machine learning services to companies in the healthcare, financial services, and insurance industries. The acquisition will add nearly 350 employees along with a strong portfolio of accelerators to Accenture’s Applied Intelligence business and enhance capabilities in enterprise-scale AI, analytics and automation.
UCB and Accenture Collaborate to Accelerate Data Processing and Help Improve Patient Safety
Accenture collaborates with UCB, a global biopharmaceutical company to build a safety solution based on Accenture’s INTIENT™ Pharmacovigilance to accelerate the processing of individual patient safety case reports, which would enable UCB to better monitor the safety of drugs already on the market and undergoing clinical trials.

Atos Acquires Google Cloud Premier Partner Maven Wave
Atos acquires Maven Wave, a U.S.-based business and technology consulting firm specialized in delivering digital transformation solutions for large enterprises. Maven Wave is a Google Cloud Premier Partner with eight Cloud Partner Specializations. This acquisition strengthens Atos’ capabilities in Google Cloud solutions.
Atos Wins Another Contract With Bayer to Provide Global Managed Security Services
Atos secures another six-year contract with Bayer to implement and deliver Managed Security Services for Bayer globally. In October, Atos signed a contract with Bayer for Digital Workplace Services.
Deloitte
Deloitte and Tisch MS Research Center of New York (Tisch MSRCNY) collaborate to leverage data science, AI and machine learning to better identify patterns that may underlie the cause of multiple sclerosis (MS). In the first phase, Deloitte helped Tisch MSRCNY assess markers in patients’ cerebrospinal fluid to identify metabolites associated with MS within two weeks.
DXC Technology
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), in collaboration with DXC Technology implemented and attained certification from the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Kansas Modular Medicaid System (KMMS), Stage 1. DXC began implementing the new system in March 2018, three modules have now been fully implemented: Provider Management and Enrollment, Program Integrity Utilization Review and Enterprise Data Warehouse (in collaboration with Cerner Corporation).

IBM adds AI features to its Cloud Identity solution that extends its capabilities to clients across all industries via the company’s identity-as-a-service (IDaaS) offering. The IBM Cloud Identity was originally developed to protect users in the financial services industry.
IBM Watson Health Demonstrates Global Imaging Market Momentum
IBM Watson Health highlights its recent clients and collaborations for its IBM Watson Health Imaging artificial intelligence (AI) platform at the 105th RSNA Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting. IBM Watson Health launches the IBM Imaging AI Marketplace, which curates and provides a single location to procure and deploy FDA-cleared AI solutions as well as Watson Health-developed AI solutions. Its partners include DiA Imaging Analysis, Circle Cardiovascular Imaging, MaxQ AI, Quantib BV, and VIDA LungPrint.
NTT Data
NTT Data to acquire NETE, a provider of digital design and transformation services for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) agencies. With this acquisition, NETE will bring 300 new employees to NTT Data and add health capabilities around digital services, agile application development, bioinformatics, advanced data analytics, cloud and cybersecurity.

NTT Data to acquire Flux7, a cloud consulting firm, to expand its capabilities in cloud-native application migration and modernization. Flux7, headquartered in Texas, U.S., is an AWS premier consulting partner which provides services across industries including healthcare and life sciences.

Optum Subsidiary Surgical Care Affiliates Names New CEO
Optum appoints Caitlin Zulla as CEO of Optum subsidiary Surgical Care Affiliates, one of the largest ambulatory surgery center operators in the United States. In this role, Caitlin Zulla will oversee 210 surgical facilities and 8,500 employees.
Optum to acquire Diplomat, a provider of specialty pharmacy and infusion services for $300 million. Diplomat will combine with OptumRx, the pharmacy benefit management division which expands the innovative specialty pharmacy and infusion solutions.
Urgent Care Centers Eclipse 9,200 Driven by Optum And Hospital Systems
The number of U.S. urgent care centers climb to 9,272 as of June 2019 driven by Optum and hospital systems such as Dignity Health, HCA, Aurora Health, Intermountain Health. Optum’s MedExpress has opened more than 250 urgent care centers in the last five years.
Unitedhealth’s Witty Describes Optum’s Ambitions for ‘Seamless’ Consumer Health Experience
Optum is developing a digital platform that brings together the clinics, surgery centers and urgent care assets acquired by the company into an ecosystem across the United States for seamless medical care. The company has identified 10 markets where the process is underway including Denver, Seattle, Southern California, Las Vegas, Dallas, and the New York and New Jersey metropolitan market.
