Rohit Mahajan
Managing Partner and CEO
- Rohit is the Managing Partner of BigRio and an experienced entrepreneur and leader with a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and software industry. Expertise in development & design of innovative solutions for clients in Healthcare, Financial Services, Retail, Automotive, Manufacturing and other industry segments.
- Rohit’s career has been centered around Business and IT Strategy, M&A, Planning, Operations Management, Sales & Marketing and Global Delivery.
- Rohit brings his passion for the cutting-edge AI technologies to BigRio.
- BigRio specializes in Machine Learning, Big Data, Natural Language Processing and Custom Software strategy, analysis, architecture and implementation solutions.
- Rohit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, is Wharton School Fellow and a graduate from Harvard Business School.
Ed Marx
Advisor Healthcare
- The youngest child of Holocaust survivors, Ed moved to the United States at age 10. At 16, he served as a medical clinic janitor where he discovered his healthcare calling.
- Ed took successive positions as combat medic, anesthesia tech, strategic planner and technology manager. He quickly learned how the convergence of clinical, business and digital saved lives. His passion ignited, he jumped feet first into technology and operations in the C-Suite of Cleveland Clinic, NYC Health & Hospitals, Texas Health Resources and University Hospitals.
- Intermixed, Ed served the supplier side as well. He was CEO for consulting firm Divurgent, global CDO for Tech Mahindra Health & Life Sciences and CIO of the Advisory Board.
- Concurrently, Ed served 15 years as an Army combat engineer officer and combat medic. Today, Ed is focused on his own advisory practice.
- Ed does a fair amount of speaking, writing and podcasting. He authored healthcare bestsellers including “Voices of Innovation” and “Healthcare Digital Transformation”. He is currently writing a book for Mayo Clinic on “Patient Experience” and “Voices of Innovation – Payers”. His podcast “DGTL Voices” is “Top 3%” globally. His Blog, CEO Unplugged, surpassed 1M views. Ed recently started a YouTube channel to expand his audience.
- Most importantly, Ed is husband to Simran who holds a Doctor of Nursing (DNP). They love to dance and climb mountains. They have 5 grown children and 4 grandchildren. To stay fit, he is captain of TeamUSA Triathlon.
Corey Thompson
Managing Partner
- Corey has over 15 years of executive experience in the conception, management, and delivery of technology to some of the most demanding locations on earth.
- Corey has spent over a decade successfully implementing technology solutions for manufacturing, construction, engineering, supply chain, maintenance, maritime, and the military.
- Corey’s career includes 10 years with CB&I as VP of Global Supply Chain and SVP of Technology and CIO. Prior to that he spent 23 years in the US Submarine Force culminating as the Resource Sponsor of the Submarine Tomahawk Cruise Missile program and the MK48 ADCAP torpedo program in Washington DC.
- Corey is a graduate of the Stanford “Innovative CIO” course as well as the “Disruptive Innovation Strategy” course from Harvard University.
- He is a retired Naval Officer and board certified Naval Nuclear Engineer. He also holds a bachelor’s in Mathematics from the University of Idaho and a master’s in Financial Management from the Naval Postgraduate School where he graduated with distinction as a Conrad Scholar.
Ritu Uberoy
Managing Partner, GAI Center of Excellence
- Ritu has over twenty-five years of experience in the software
and information technology industry in the United States and in India. - She established Saviance Technologies in India and has
been involved in the delivery of several successful software
projects and products to clients in various industry segments. - She has worked with Silicon Graphics in their CIO’s office in
Mountain View, California. She has also worked with Hewlett-Packard in their Research and Development. - She is a certified six sigma black belt. She is currently involved in building AI models for clients in the healthcare industry segment.
- Ritu earned her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Delhi Institute of Technology (now NSIT) and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Santa Clara University in California. She has participated in the Fellow’s program at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Bill Foland
Chief GenAI Data Scientist
- Bill is a BSEE, MSCS, and Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Colorado, with a focused specialization in deep learning for natural language understanding. He has several publications and presentations credited to his name on innovative deep learning architectures at prestigious NLP conferences like ACL, and holds over 25 patents in complex digital algorithms.
- He has developed systems for error correction coding, laser control, and design automation, and chipsets for state of the art magnetic and optical recording. He held leadership roles as VP and Senior Director at leading companies like Cirrus Logic and Marvell Semiconductor. Bill has also managed large international teams to develop technically advanced, and profitable product lines.
- Bill’s seamless blend of theoretical research and practical development in computer science, and his current emphasis on the application of generative AI, demonstrate his role as a leading innovator and problem-solver in the tech world.
Jeff Sigel
Chief Digital Strategy Officer
- Jeff has led teams in marketing, corporate strategy, business intelligence, data analytics, and innovation over the past 2 decades.
- In these roles, he has worked within traditional consumer industries to modernize processes and capabilities. He has first hand experience of the challenges that complex corporations face in structuring data into meaningful information that drives decision-making.
- Most recently, Jeff served as VP of Strategy and Business Intelligence at Cracker Barrel, where he spearheaded the creation of a business analytics function.
- Prior to that role, Jeff’s 20 year marketing career included brand management, advertising, and product innovation roles in the consumer packaged goods sector with Nabisco and the Hershey Company as well as VP of Marketing roles at grocery retailer Ahold-Delhaize and Cracker Barrel.
- Jeff received a bachelor’s degree from Harvard University in Chemistry and Physics. He also holds an MBA from the University of Rochester with a concentration in Marketing.
Michalene E. Kinsler
VP, Digital Strategy
- Michalene Kinsler is an accomplished healthcare industry leader with over twenty-five years of experience in leading cross-functional and collaborative teams. With a strategic focus on digital transformation, she has successfully led a variety of projects, ranging from enterprise-level strategic planning and roadmaps to stakeholder alignment and engagement. Her expertise includes advancing IT maturity and opportunity mapping for a diverse array of clients, such as large health systems, academic medical centers, payers, collaboratives, senior living communities, and nonprofit organizations. Her unique background as a process engineer and in clinical practice helps her excel at complex problem-solving, thought leadership, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to high integrity in all her endeavors.
- Michalene’s management skills and expertise encompass team building and leadership, process improvement, organizational change management, alignment of IT, ClinOps, finance, and C-suite functions, healthcare sales enablement, grant strategy and project management.
- Michalene has also served as an advisor in healthcare sales enablement for several leading technology companies and many startups.
Darrel Schmucker
VP, Digital Transformation
- Darrel has over thirty-five years of healthcare IT leadership experience working with standalone medical groups, integrated delivery systems and rural hospitals. He has led several large transformation projects including practice management system replacements, managed care system implementation, EHR implementation, data warehouse creation, contact center consolidation and application rationalization. He is the Vice President, Digital Transformation, Provider at Damo Consulting.
- Darrel’s career includes nearly 30 years of IT leadership roles for Sutter Health and Common Spirit affiliates in the Sacramento region. He has focused on improving both the patient and clinician experience of healthcare through the implementation of innovative technology solutions.
- Darrel earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a double major in Accounting and Management Information Systems from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. During his career he has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Colorado and a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) through the American College of Medical Practice Executives. He recently completed the new HIMSS Certified Professional in Digital Health Transformation Strategy (CPDHTS) beta exam.
