With the initial growth pains of telehealth adoption behind us, the big question is how much of the shift to virtual care is permanent and how health systems should prepare for it. More importantly: how to avoid repeating the mistakes of the EHR implementation over the past decade and ensuring that virtual care models appropriately factor in caregiver needs. Even more importantly: how will health systems make money in a virtual care world? We feature a handful of insightful articles on these questions.

This past week Salesforce announced it is dropping a cool $27 billion to buy workforce collaboration tool Slack. Over the past few years, Salesforce has been collecting a string of pearls (which CEO Marc Benioff refers to as the Ohana strategy), which has included big acquisitions such as Mulesoft and Tableau. Neither of those previous acquisitions has made a big impact on digital health and digital transformation so far. Will Slack help Salesforce pickup the…slack?
